At the end of September, we will be giving away a copy of Sheriff of Nottingham by Arcane Wonders to one of our mailing list subscribers. Why in the world would we do that!? Well, it’s quite simple you see. For those of you that are not a part of our mailing list already, we’ve been using this list to send out a monthly email to our Happy Mitten friends, updating them on our company’s progress and the excitement we have down the road for Happy Mitten Games. At one point in particular, we sent out a complete print and play copy of Aether Magic which is now completely out of date, meaning those of you that did not get that message will never get to see that version of the game! The mailing list is important to us because it allows us to connect with our followers in a way that is not possible anywhere else. It is the most effective way of updating you on the games we are publishing and the specific date you can expect to see our game on Kickstarter. The game we have selected for this give-away holds importance to us as well.
We selected Sheriff of Nottingham for a few reasons, the first of which is that it’s freaking amazing. This game is an incredible amount of fun and deserves a proud display on any game shelf. The second reason we selected this game is how important the people involved with its creation are to us. Sheriff of Nottingham is the first game in the Dice Tower sponsored game line of “Dice Tower Essentials.” Tom Vasel and the rest of the Dice Tower community have helped our company so much by allowing us to be a part of their network. The Dice Tower Network has made many of you aware of our existence that may have never noticed us otherwise and we sincerely value the interactions we’ve had with Tom and the rest of the Dice Tower crew. Sheriff of Nottingham’s publisher, Arcane Wonders also holds a special place in our heart.
At numerous points we were fortunate enough to have a relationship with John Rogers of Arcane Wonders. John has been a tremendous friend and has aided us in our ability to understand important aspects of the game publishing industry. Without our friendly conversations with John, we would be less of a company and we can’t thank him enough for all he’s done. Additionally, Arcane Wonders made the smart decision to employ Scott “Tox” Morris of Crits Happen. Through his YouTube channel and website, Tox has given so much to the board game industry. In addition to what we can access on those platforms, Tox was kind enough to be on our podcast and informed our listeners on what it takes to create fantastic board game videos. Arcane Wonders embodies what it takes to be a great board game publisher and we know with complete confidence that the winner of Sheriff of Nottingham is going to be very happy with their mailing list prize.
If you are not a part of our mailing list already, I invite you to join us! Jeff, Leandra, and I send out a little piece of ourselves each month. It is so important for us to be able to communicate with you in that way and we would love to have you join us on our journey. 🙂
